This is an emergency fund which provides direct financial assistance to trans folks in South Dakota in response to the state's gender-affirming care ban, HB 1080. Here's what the Transformation Project's Executive Director, Susan Williams, has to say in response to the ban: "In addition to the direct harm inflicted by this law, the ban also infringes upon the rights of parents to make healthcare decisions for their children in consultation with medical experts. It erodes parental rights and inserts the government into deeply personal and private matters that should be determined by families in collaboration with healthcare professionals."
